Hi Jim,

What caught my attention was the comments in your last blog post about Zalvidea's ego and the legal problems that were causing his two hotels to be skipped. If I understand you correctly, these problems are ironed out and the hotels should be getting sand soon. Is that right?

Many thanks,

Bill

Not sure when you are coming or what you are concerned about since the hotel has reached an agreement with the government and is now part of the project and since the tubing is already there they should get sand within a day or two. And the whole project in Cancun is scheduled to be finished by Jan1. Keep track of http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowForum-g150807-i8-Cancun_Yucatan_Peninsula.html which is where I always post the news first. Have a great vacation. And remember "I had a lot of problems in my life and most of them never happened." Mark Twain

Hi Jim,

I appreciate the great info.

As it so happens, I'm planning a trip to the Royal Cancun soon, so your last post makes me more than a little nervous. I know that it's a bit much to ask, but could you drop me an email if you get any more news about the Royal's beach. I'd especially like to know if they finally dump some sand on it.

Many, many thanks,

Bill

Hi, Al.
They have covered about 3 kilometers since they started. My "one hotel a day" is based on one right after the other and the area they have been working has restaurants, condos, a public beach and empty lots but they are making great progress. They have done the Hyatt Regency, Krystal, Portofino, BVG, Terramar (or something like that), Forum Mall, The City, Sunset, Le Blanc, Park Royal Cancun Caribe, Flamingo and some work of tubing at the Royal and Gran Caribe Real. Tubing now start around the Park Royal and the rest of the beach north is clear. They are well along the "arm" and with 2 dredgers will be going even faster now.
